Gita Dey
was born at Giridih. She attended Giridih Girls High school then graduated
with Philosophy as her major. After finishing her M.A. from Ranchi
University, she went on to complete her LLB from the same university. she
than got her doctoral degree in Philosophy with a thesis on Plato's
Principles. she has been part of the faculty of Ramkrishna Mahila College
ever since the college began on 1st August 1978. She is currently the
Principal/Prof-in-charge of the college. She has attended orientation and
Refresher Courses from Ranchi and Allahabad Universities.
Gita Dey has been a member of a number of bodies which include the Intermediate Education Council, Ranchi; Akhil Bharatiya Darshan Parishad; Mahila kosang town thana, Giridih; Giridih District Volley Ball Association; Giridih District Cultural Association Academic Council; and Art and Cultural Committee, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag. She won the Best Teacher Award in 1991 and in 2000 she won 'Bajrang Sahay Memorial' Award and 'Bharat Gaurav' Award.She is also a member of the Saria College Governing Body of Saria and an Executive Member of the Indian Red Cross Society Giridih.
